How Lake Hartwell Ramp Availability Is Calculated
Each ramp's status above comes from the same live source used throughout this site: the USACE Savannah District's public Status of Corps Boat Ramps page, checked on a schedule. A ramp is Open when every tracked lane is open, Limited when some lanes are open and others are closed, and Unavailable when every tracked lane is confirmed closed. If a lane has never been checked and no other lane at that ramp is confirmed open, we show Status unavailable rather than guess — an unchecked lane could still be open.
The current lake elevation and each ramp's approximate low-water elevation (from a USACE document dated July 13, 2021) are shown alongside for context only — consistent with the rest of this site, we don't calculate ramp status from elevation data. USACE's own status page is the source of truth. See our methodology page for full detail.
This is an independent site, not operated by or affiliated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and does not replace USACE's own safety or closure information. Conditions and physical ramp surfaces can change faster than any website updates — always inspect a ramp yourself before launching.
